The company offers one of the most comprehensive pay packages in the truckload industry for its qualified drivers. Drivers with one year verifiable OTR experience start at $.36/mile. Drivers with two years verifiable OTR experience start at $.37/mile. Drivers with three or less jobs in the last five years and four or more years of verifiable flatbed experience in the last five years may start at $.38/mile, In addition, drivers are eligible for a one cent ($.01) per mile annual pay increase. Maximum base pay is $.42/mile. In addition, Hunt Transportation pays practical route miles instead of short route miles to our drivers.
Hunt Transportation also accepts qualified student drivers who have successfully completed their schooling at an approved school.
All drivers are paid weekly by direct deposit to their bank account or their cash card and have weekly cash advances for road expenses. Payroll is computed from driver paperwork received at the Hunt, Omaha, Nebraska, terminal. TRANSFLO Express® is available to scan and deliver driver trip documents to the Payroll Department within seconds after being scanned. TRANSFLO Express® is currently available at no cost to the driver at more than 350 Travel Centers across the United States.

Pay For Experience The company will recognize a drivers' prior years of recent driving experience in establishing the driver's beginning mileage rate of pay. With one or two years of experience within the last five years, the starting pay in the will be $.36 per mile. The National Fleet pay for experience rate of pay can go as high as $.38 per mile for the driver who has four years of driving experience within the last five years and has gained this experience with three or fewer employers. This pay for experience must be recent and with a limited number of employers. Additional Company Driver Compensation
Monthly Productivity Incentive
Drivers who run 10,000 miles or more in a month will receive a $.02/mile bonus for all authorized and delivered miles traveled for the month.
Stop Pay
On loads with multiple stops, drivers will receive $10 per stop for all of the stops excluding original pickup and final destination.
Tarp Pay
If the load requires a tarp the driver will receive a $20 tarp fee plus $5 for any additional stops requiring re-tarping.
Over-dimensional or Permit Loads
Drivers pulling any over-dimensional or permit loads will receive an additional $.06/mile for all authorized delivered miles.
"LTL" loads
Drivers will receive 20% of any LTL "add-on" base-rate charges plus any additional miles involved should there be LTL freight added to the trailer after the original load is loaded.
Quarterly Safety Bonus
$.01/mile for all authorized paid miles traveled and delivered in the quarter if the driver runs 27,000 delivered miles during the three-month period and has no DOT "out-of-service" inspections, no accidents, no log violations, no claims and no speeding tickets of 15 miles or more over the posted speed limit.
Annual Productivity Incentive
Incentive paid to all drivers who exceed a total of 120,000 delivered miles in the twelve (12) month period ending with the individual driver's anniversary date of hire. Incentive is two cents ($0.02) per mile for all paid miles delivered in the twelve (12) month period, less all monthly productivity incentive amounts paid to the driver during the twelve (12) month period.
Referral Bonus
The company will pay you referral fee of $1,000 for each qualified driver or team you refer to the company. The fee is paid $500 when the referred driver successfully completes Driver Orientation and $500 ninety days later.
Sign-on Bonus
$300 sign-on bonus paid to the new driver as soon as the driver takes their first dispatch.
